The Overland Park Civic Band
Celebrates 75 Years
2012 marked the band's 75th anniversary. The band was organized in 1938 as the Northeast Johnson County Community Band, with Mr. John Francis as the first conductor, James P. Kelly followed Mr. Francis in 1953, to be succeeded by Dr. David Circle, George Alter, Frank Fendorf, and Cletson Cox, the present conductor.
This concert season is sponsored by the City of Overland Park.
